“I went to visit him in the hospital and I have spoken to him every day since. It was the best news we could hope for in the circumstances really,” Evatt told the Barrow News & Mail.

“The way his arm was positioned, it looked like it was broken as well, but it was just the way the shoulder had dislocated. It is just the dislocated shoulder and a bit a of concussion to heal.

“It’s four to six weeks out, which isn’t ideal, but it could a hell of a lot worse. It’s not his legs either, so he will be able to play sooner.”

Barrow beat Carlisle United 3-1 last night as they prepare for their opening game with Havant & Waterlooville on August 4.
