Is the Dragons’ Striker Search Very Nearly At An End?

By Sam Elliott

Wrexham manager Dean Keates thinks there will be movement in the transfer market in the coming days.

In what is great news for the fans, one player expected to join the Red Dragons is the striker the Racecourse boss has been chasing for a number of months.

It’s not secret Wrexham want to add firepower to their squad - they have scored only 31 goals in the National League, and no side other than the bottom four have less than that.

Although they did score four in their last home game with Torquay United, Keates wants to secure another frontman and told the Evening Leader he hopes to have news soon.

Wrexham take their title bid to Hartlepool United on Saturday and new faces may be on hand.

“I expect a couple of things to happen,” said Keates.

“We have already got one who should be virtually done, it is all agreed and it is just a case of getting it all sorted.

“There will definitely be that one added this week and all being well maybe two.”

And it’s not just a striker the manager is looking to add.

“There is a possibility of more signings before the end of the window,” said Keates to the Leader. “We have put a bid in for another player and we are waiting to see what happens with that one.”
