Garrard Believes It Can Be Special Season For Boreham Wood

A 1-0 victory against AFC Fylde left Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard feeling optimistic for how the season will go from now on.

Boreham Wood find themselves in the play-off places in seventh with a game in hand on some of the teams around them, writes Tom Feaheny.

Their latest win extended their unbeaten run in the league.

"We are now eleven unbeaten in the league, the need for three points was there to kick on in terms of our league position," Garrard said to the club's website.

"I think this group has got something, when it gets going I think we can achieve something this season, they have bought into the football club and what the management is asking of them."

"The first-half we nullified them, some of our attacking play was up there with the best we have played, we have got accustomed to our shape, you can see the progress that is being made

"They had two chances near the end but the free flowing football really meant we deserved the win."

Boreham Wood could have conceded late on if it wasn't for a fine save and Garrard praised his keeper.

"With Grant (Smith) his kicking was good, his organisation was good, near the end he makes a great save and he's up there as one of the best keepers in the league now."
