Double Boost For St Albans As Key Players Extend Stay

St Albans City have announced that Sam Merson and Solomon Sambou have signed new contracts with the club.

The news was confirmed last night with top scorer Merson, the son of Paul and Solomon who has played every game so far this season, both extending their stays with the club, writes Tom Feaheny.

Merson scored four times last weekend in a fine display, he almost got a fifth as well after hitting both posts.

“It really is fantastic for the whole football club that both Sam and Solomon have signed new deals, I feel this is a real statement of intent," St Albans City boss Ian Allinson told the club's website.

"It shows where the club are going especially with all the plans off the field. Our club secretary has informed me we have been averaging around 8 scouts per home game.

"It was important we got both deals over the line as Sam and Solomon are great ages and have big futures in the game”
