Double Boost For Solihull As Osborne & Storer Sign

Solihull Moors have announced the permanent signing of Jamey Osborne for an undisclosed fee from SkyBet League Two side Grimsby Town and the arrivals of the experienced Kyle Storer from the Mariners` league rivals, Cheltenham Town.

Twenty-five-year-old Osborne has been on loan at the club since the beginning of December after initially impressing during his first spell with the club.

He was an integral part of the squad that retained its National League status last season, making twenty-two appearances in the first half of the campaign after joining the club following earlier spells with Hednesford Town and Redditch United.

He then made the move to Grimsby in January 2017, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Since his return to The Moors, Solihull-born Osborne has continued to flourish during seven appearances.

His performances in the centre of midfield have been key in the upturn of results under Mark Yates.

His stunning strike in the Buildbase FA Trophy victory against Tranmere Rovers reminded fans of the ability Osborne possesses and the club are extremely excited for what’s to come in the future from the midfielder.

Storer (pictured) has also joined on a permanent deal following his release from Cheltenham.

The 30-year-old arrives at The Automated Technology Group Stadium with plenty of experience having enjoyed time in the Football League and the National League – he reached the landmark of 500 senior appearances in October 2017.

Storer began his career with local side Bedworth United before joining Tamworth in July 2004.

He racked up twenty-seven appearances in his first season at The Lamb, where he stayed before joining Nuneaton Town in February 2009 after spells with Hinckley United and Atherstone Town.

After featuring over 100 times and playing an integral part in two promotions for Boro, Storer made the step to play full-time football with Kidderminster Harriers in July 2011 as a 24-year-old.

His time with Kiddy was a fruitful one as he played more than 140 times as club captain over the course of three-and-a-half seasons.

Storer netted on 13 occasions in the league and helped the Harriers to a second-place finish in the 2012/13 season where they narrowly missed out on a place in League Two, losing in the play-off semi-final to Wrexham.

And the Racecourse Ground was to be the next destination for Storer. He signed for Wrexham in January 2015, penning a deal with the Welsh club until the end of that current season.

In that time, he played thirteen times and scored one goal as the Dragons finished eleventh in the Conference.

Storer had been donning the Cheltenham shirt as skipper for the last two-and-a-half years after arriving at Whaddon Road in July 2015.

He fulfilled one of his career ambitions with the Robins, as they won the National League title in 2015/16 and promotion to the Football League.

He went on to play 101 times and scored 4 goals under Gary Johnson as Cheltenham finished twenty-first in Storer’s first season in League Two.

He made twenty-seven appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The midfielder now becomes part of Mark Yates’ squad as the club bid to retain their National League status for the second season running.
