Curzon Come Out On Top As They Receive FSF Recognition

Curzon Ashton were flying the flag for the National League at the Football Supporters Federation awards - taking home the Community Club accolade.

National League North Curzon saw off competition from many big names to secure the award.

Andrew Cheshire, one of a number of people who give their time to the cause, says it is a important moment for the club and explained that it is fantastic that their efforts aren’t going unnoticed.

“I’m absolutely overwhelmed to receive this award on behalf of Curzon Ashton,” he said.

“As a community club, this award is recognition of the enthusiasm and effort that every single member of the club puts in on a daily basis to be of benefit to our local community.

“It’s lovely to be recognised nationally for the work that is ongoing in Tameside, of which none of it would be possible without our partners, our volunteers and the small team of staff that we have.

“Hopefully we can continue to push on with our community outreach and development work and be of lasting benefit to our local community.”
