Chester Lacked A Real Cutting Edge Complains Johnson

Chester missed a big opportunity last night according to their joint manager Anthony Johnson.

The Blues fired blanks in their rearranged game with FC United of Manchester at the Swansway Stadium.

Before the game, his players were urged to make up for lost time and power themselves up the table.

But in front of over 2,000 supporters they couldn’t produce something to ensure those extra fans are quick to return.

“We have got to be winning these type of games, especially at home so we’re disappointed,” Johnson said after the 0-0 draw.

“FC United acquitted themselves very well but we needed to do more. We were solid defensively but we have got to be breaking teams down.

“We need more of a cutting edge. There was no incisiveness to our play whatsoever. It was the total opposite to Saturday with the same players.

“We lacked creativity and we didn’t have enough about us in the middle of the park. We need more graft and more guile.”
