Best Weston Or Will Red Dragons Have A Comfortable Stay?

Weston-super-Mare say they’ve got nothing to fear despite the odds being stacked against them this weekend.

The bottom of the National League South take on the top of the National League as Wrexham pay a visit in the first round of the FA Cup.

On paper few would give the Seagulls a prayer but they have hope to cling to.

Weston have picked up in the last few weeks and not only have two wins in the competition to their name but won for the first time in the league recently and on Tuesday came back from the dead to draw at Dulwich.

Manager Marc McGregor says Sunday won’t be as simple as some might think.

"I’m looking for my team to go and beat his team," McGregor told the official club website when asked if he was looking forward to pitting his wits against Wrexham manager Sam Ricketts.

"That’s the idea of the game but it’ll be tough. They’re riding high, he’s got them playing really well.

"They’ll be very well organised, they’ll be fit so we expect a really tough game but it’s a free hit for us, it’s one that we can hopefully go and enjoy and upset them. That’s what the cup’s about. It’s got the makings of a great game."

The manager is thrilled by the team's form and added: "Winning breeds habits so if you’re winning games, it becomes a habit.

"Everything we enter whether it be the Somerset Cup or the FA Cup, we always go and look to win every game we play.

"That’s no different so if we can get a run in the FA Cup and a run in the FA Trophy and be successful in those, it means that you’re winning games and that habit is something that we need."
