Beavers’ Business Doesn’t Appear To Be Concluded Quite Yet

Manager Gary McCann says they could add up to three more new signings in time for the start of the new season.

The Beavers not only have a new manager, but an almost totally new squad.

McCann, who arrived from Hendon in the summer after 15 years’ service, has had to clear the decks.

Many of the successful side who were penalty kicks away from promotion in the National League South Promotion Final have followed Alan Dowson to Woking.

Hampton’s new era has started well in pre-season but following Saturday’s 1-0 win at Merstham the Beavers boss says more transfers are likely.

“The performance was very much a work-in-progress but the energy levels were good,” he told the club’s video service.

“A clean sheet at any stage, even pre-season and especially with the new system, we are really happy with.

“We will be looking to add two or three more. One deal is already done.

“I’m happy with what we have for for sure, but you are always looking to improve and we are hopefully going to be able to do that.”

The Beavers begin the new season away to Southern League play-off winners Slough Town.

“We know how dangerous they are going to be,” added McCann.
