Ainsley Wants Spennymoor Reaction After FA Cup Defeat

Spennymoor Town bowed out of the FA Cup at the first attempt this season after a 2-1 loss to Gainsborough Trinity, they next face Alfreton Town in the Vanarama National League North.

Jason Ainsley says his side have to continue their good form in the league after the disappointment of losing in the 2nd qualiyign round of the FA Cup, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website he spoke about the importance of the weekend fixture.

"Any defeat is important to bounce back from, it has been a good start for us in the league, it was disappointing to go out of the cup at some a stage, we know that three points on Saturday would go a long way to helping us forget about being knocked out."

For Ainsley it was the second half display that disappointed him during their home loss to Trinity.

"That first-half performance was very good we looked confident, the second-half was not good enough we didn't compete, we didn't have a threat and all that good work goes away after it."

Last season while in the Evo-Stik Premier, the side went on a good run that saw them in the end lose to MK Dons and Ainsley said that is why he was so disappointed to have gone out.

"It was disappointed to go out so early, we had some good memories last season, we know how good this competition has been for us."
