Draws Are Getting Daryl Down But Fleet's Run Goes On

Ebbsfleet United are getting nearer and nearer to breaking their draw rut but they their manager is still proud that his team have yet to lose in 2017.

It was Boxing Day when Daryl McMahon last say his team lose in the league, and that was in the National League South.

They have won since earning promotion - a derby success over Maidstone - but all the other games have ended in stalemate.

McMahon watched his team draw for the fifth time today as Fleet drew 0-0 at home to Gateshead.

That after drawing with Guiseley, AFC Fylde, Dagenham and last week against Maidenhead.

The Irish manager wasn’t unhappy with firing blanks and is thrilled at their long, long undefeated run of results.

“It’s been a great while since we lost and that’s great,” he said. “But drawing so many game is so frustrating. We’re getting in positions to win games and we should be taking three points and not one.

“At times our decision making wasn’t the best but there are positives to take, that’s for sure.”
