Dowson's Cards Get Visit From Chelsea Stopper Green

By Tom Scott

Woking had a superstar spectator for their training session yesterday evening as Rob Green watched the Cards players train.

The ex-England international played more than 250 Premier League games as well as turning out for the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Norwich and Leeds United.

Green, an avid Woking fan, was invited along to drop in on Alan Dowson’s men as they were put through their paces ahead of their weekend FA Cup tie with Welling.

Manager Dowson was delighted the stopper showed up and told the club’s website that Green did more than just watch.

"I think everyone knows Rob is a long-term Woking fan,” Dowson said.

“The lads loved him being there at training and at the end he gave them some words of advice which we appreciated.”
