Dowson Is Certain Returning Max Will Be 'A Revelation'

Alan Dowson wants new signing Max Kretzschmar to fill the goals from midfield void left by Charlie Carter.

The Hampton player became the latest Beaver to follow his former manager to the Laithwaite’s last night.

Kretzschmar scored 16 times for Hampton in the National League South last season and Dowson wants more of the same.

Woking are sure to miss Carter, who left for Chesterfield this summer who notched 12 from the middle of the park.

The Cards begin their league campaign at East Thurrock on August 4 and they are thrilled with their latest recruit.

“We actually signed Max from Woking and I’m delighted to bring him back,” Dowson said to the club’s official website.

“He scored 22 goals in all competitions for us last season and we want him to carry that on.

“I was desperate for him to come. Because of the goals he scored last season he had other club’s interested but he has chosen us.

“It’s more unfinished business for him than a great signing for me to be honest.

“I’ve been talking to him all season and I’m absolutely delighted get him. I think he’ll be a revelation down here.”
