Dover Face 'Massive Test' At Rovers

By David Richardson

Tranmere Rovers host Chris Kinnear's Dover Athletic on Saturday evening live on BT Sport - and the Whites' boss knows just how difficult it will be.

New-look Dover have taken 11 points from their opening seven games, Tranmere have gained two less.

Kinnear's men haven't won in their last three, drawing twice but will have taken confidence from their promising start after narrowly missing out on the play-offs last season.

Meanwhile, Rovers have started slowly albeit their confidence will have boosted following a 2-0 victory at Solihull Moors last Saturday - watch match highlights here.

The fixture will be broadcast live on BT Sport from 5pm - kick-off is at 5.30pm - and despite Tranmere's start, Kinnear is expecting a difficult evening.

"It's a massive test," he said. "They're as big as it gets, the third biggest club in Merseyside behind Liverpool and Everton. They have a massive following with a 17,000-seater stadium, it's a beautiful ground.

"But it just shows you, you can have all the money and ambition, where they've been and what they've done - it's about the team winning games. You can win one and lose one and that's better than drawing two so that's the way we see it, in going and trying to win games.

"They've not got going but I'm sure by the end of the season they'll be one of the front runners. They have a decent manager and good players and as long as they don't start panicking, I'm sure they'll be up there.

"Whatever they do is none of my concern, we've just got to play against them on Saturday and do what we do - and hopefully get a result."
