Don't Rule Chester Out Just Yet Declares Blues Boss Johnson

Chester joint-manager Anthony Johnson says Chester are still aiming for promotion despite their recent injury woes.

The Blues have struggled with a mounting injury list that includes club-record signing Akwasi Asante.

But despite just one win since Boxing Day, Johnson is adamant his side are still in contention and thinks they will only improve once players are fit again.

"There is a lot of football still to be played and some teams will have dips in form because it happens," he told Chesire Live.

"We're still in the mix and we know that when we get some bodies back and if we get another striker in then we'll only get stronger.

"There doesn't seem much chatter about Chester anymore but we are confident in our chances and nothing has changed in that respect.

"People are saying how Stockport are flying and how they could win it but the fact is they are two points ahead of us.

"But despite all the injuries and what we've had to contend with in that respect, we're still well in the mix and in a great position."
