Deren To Leave The Darts As They Climb Into The Top Seven

Dartford moved into the National League South play-off places - then announced some gut-wrenching news.

The Kent club are on the rise thanks to Saturday’s 2-1 win over Dulwich Hamlet.

But after re-signing fans’ favourite Ryan Hayes on Friday, they have some bad news to confirm last night.

Popular goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim is leaving Princes Park after being handed a job opportunity.

He will take up a position at Charlton Athletic - and he won’t be able to pull on the gloves on Saturdays.

But Ibrahim has promises to stay on until the club find a new goalkeeper.

He tweeted a message to the fans last night, writing: ‘once a Dart always a Dart’.

The club said: “We would like to thank Deren for everything he has done for the club on and off the pitch.”
