Davies The First In As Pools Boss Plots A Busy Week Ahead

Matthew Bates promised Hartlepool United fans a flurry of transfer activity this week and he has made a good start.

Experienced defender Andrew Davies has joined the club - the first of what could be four new faces inside the next ten days.

The 33-year-old arrived at Victoria Park after three years with Ross County.

Davies played alongside boss Bates in Middlesbrough’s UEFA Cup final side.

He has also played for Queens Park Rangers, Derby County and Southampton.

Bates believes the signing will add more stability to a Hartlepool side who let in far too many goals last season.

Pools find out who they play and when next season when the National League fixtures are released next Wednesday.
