Currie Wonders Where Barnet's FA Cup Heroes Went

Darren Currie pulled no punches as Barnet suffered another defeat at home to Chesterfield on Tuesday night which keeps them looking over their shoulders.

In the evening’s only National League fixture, the Bees failed to take advantage and move up the table and it’s now only one win in eight attempts.

Angry Currie accepts his team's attacking is getting worse as the season goes on - and doesn’t know where the team that beat Sheffield United and performed so well against Brentford in the FA Cup have disappeared to.

“Not good enough, simple as that,” he said on the club’s YouTube channel. “We have no purpose and no penetration. Our final third play is getting worse, not improving.

“Changes will have to be made, there’s no getting away from that. They are a shadow of the side who were performing at a higher level a couple of weeks ago.

“I can’t let it continue because it will effect everyone. Fans are cheesed off and I can’t let it continue.

“In wide areas we can’t cross it, and you would think that we actually don’t do any work on it but trust me that’s not the case.

“It’s a massive concern that we’re not scoring goals. I now have to be seen to make changes.

"I want to be the one to take this club forward, but at the moment I’m not.”

The defeat sees the club remain in 19th and they have only scored in one of their past six matches.
