Currie: Don't Expect Us To Get Rolled Over In Replay

Darren Currie sees absolutely no reason why Barnet can’t go to Griffin Park next week and finish the job.

The Bees manager spoke of his pride after fighting back to secure a stunning 3-3 with Brentford on Monday.

Dan Sparkes’ wonderful free-kick took the game to a replay as the two sides played out an FA Cup classic in front of the BT Sport cameras.

Currie says it could have been even more after suggesting the Championship club’s second half spot kick certainly wasn’t a penalty.

But he told those expecting Brentford to ease through in the second game now to think again.

“Can we do it? Of course we can,” said the manager. “Why not?

“We can achieve anything with this group of players if they truly believe in themselves.

“We keep raising the bar against these teams and we’ve still got a chance of going there and doing it again.

“They gave everything and I couldn’t be prouder,” Currie added.

“We didn’t know when we were beaten. I feared the worst at 3-2, of course you do. But I knew we had another goal, another moment, in us.

“When it arrived the emotions were incredible. Now we’ve got to see if we can produce some more.”
