Collins Hopes To Add Weight To Job Application

York City stand-in manager Sam Collins feels his side have what it takes to end Kidderminster Harriers’ undefeated run.

The caretaker watched their rivals’ win over Blyth Spartans on Saturday with York without a game.

Although he saw Kiddy climb to fourth in the National League North, he left with the impression that they aren’t unbeatable.

It should be a fantastic match at Bootham Crescent with Collins desperate for victory to stake his claim for the job on a full-time basis.

He says his players have what it takes to be the first to leave Harriers deflated.

He said: “They have got a lot of good players, they have yet to lose but we have got a lot of belief - we are certainly up for the challenge.

“We haven’t played in a fortnight but we are ready.

“Not having a game for a while could work in our favour but we know we are playing a side who will be up there.

“They are a good footballing team but so are we.”
