Chippenham Give Leaders A Run For Their Money

Chippenham Town boss Mark Collier admits he was disappointed at only taking a point against leaders Dartford.

Chippenham fought back from a goal down twice to grab a share of the spoils against Dartford in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Hardenhuish Park.

The point against the leaders came a week after a 1-1 draw with high-flying Braintree Town and the Bluebirds are now seven points clear of danger in the National League South.

It could have been even better for Town on Saturday, however.

“Overall, we’re a little disappointed that we haven’t got three points because our all-round game was absolutely outstanding,” Collier told Bluearmy Television.

“How we came in at half-time not ahead I don’t know. We’ve taken the game to them in the second half and the performance warranted three points.

“We’ve gone toe-to-toe with the top two teams in the last fortnight and got vital points. It’s a credit to all of the players, certainly.

“From a neutral point of view, it was a fantastic game to watch. Hopefully, today will bring the fans back because it showed that we’re in a very strong league against some good players.”
