Branding Specialist Transforms Stadium For Spennymoor

Spennymoor Town has joined forces with Washington-based print solutions expert Aztec Colour Print to re-vamp The Brewery Field with giant images of club legends and historic moments ahead of the new season.

Aztec has been a long-standing sponsor of the club, providing match programmes and bespoke projects at affordable prices and sponsoring players’ kits for the last three seasons.

But that contribution has significantly increased as the Moors move onto the highest level in the club’s history to do battle in the National League North against the likes of Stockport County, York City, Kidderminster Harriers, Salford and FC United of Manchester.

Aztec is now Spennymoor Town’s ‘Official Branding Partner’ and has implemented a series of stunning wall designs to evoke memories of the club’s biggest achievements. The decoration includes images from the historic 2013 FA Vase win; last season’s promotion run; five club legends; First Team Manager Jason Ainsley; and more.

Bradley Groves, chief executive of Spennymoor Town, said: “Aztec have done a tremendous job of not only adorning the ground with some brilliant new visuals, but they’ve helped our management team at the club to build the foundations of a Spennymoor Town FC brand.

“Our new ‘legends wall’ is a tribute to recognise some of our most loyal and successful players during my time at the club. They’ve played major roles in us winning six domestic trophies, four league titles, three promotions, an FA Vase and reaching the first round of the FA Cup.

“There have been a series of fantastic developments already at the ground, including the new hospitality improvements in partnership with Ramside Estates and new facilities for our fans to enjoy such as the large supporters’ marquee, renovated toilets and more. We listened to what our fans said in the annual survey and, with even more developments on the way, match days at The Brewery Field are taking a leap forward, in line with the team on the pitch. We see this as a reward for our fans who have supported us loyally over the years.

“I’d like to thank Lee and the team at Aztec for their continued support and I look forward to our supporters enjoying the new look this season.”

Lee Redford, managing director at Aztec Colour Print, said: “We got involved with Spennymoor Town when one of my close friends Gavin Cogdon played for them, so it was a great feeling to install a giant photo of him on the wall at the ground, recognising his achievements as a club legend.

“Aztec Colour Print is growing as a business, just like the club, so the time felt right to increase our involvement and I’m sure the supporters are going to love the new additions.

“We’re pleased with the work and the ground looks fitting of the exciting new level Spennymoor are playing at this year.”

Adam Brown, head of PR and media at Spennymoor said: “The new developments already in place include a completely refurbished Platinum Club Suite and Board Room in the Ramside Estates Main Stand; the superb new branding project with Aztec; significant further investment in the pitch; a new car park on-site; the re-opening of an on-site club shop; a new toilet block; and refurbished toilet blocks already in place.

"There is still a lot more to come, too. We are working on securing additional parking close to the ground; the erection of a supporters' marquee in the North-East corner for match day food and drinks run by Ramside Estates; further branding around the ground; and a brand new 'Fan Zone' in the South West corner of the ground, which will all come together to make the Spennymoor Town match day famous throughout the league.

"I won't reveal straight away what the Fan Zone will entail, but rest assured the great work already done is just the start."

The new legends wall was unveiled on Tuesday and all of the featured players were invited along to witness it and wish the squad luck ahead of the highly-anticipated new campaign, which starts on Saturday at home to Stockport County.
