Boost For Brakes As Striker Re-Signs

Leamington have confirmed that Courtney Baker-Richardson has agreed to remain at the New Windmill Ground for the forthcoming season.

The young striker certainly topped the impact he made after joining us from Kettering Town in the latter stages of the 2015/16 season, making fifty-five appearances and scoring 20 goals, none more important than the spectacular extra-time winner in the play-off final against Hitchin Town.

Manager Paul Holleran was understandably pleased to have tied down the final member of last season’s squad, saying: “Obviously I’m delighted that we have been able to keep Courtney at the club. He’s just come back from holiday and we’ve been able to sit down and have a proper chat. Courtney is fully committed to what we are doing here. He realises that we have helped him improve immensely over the eighteen months that he has been at the club.

“We feel that he is only going to get better, and Leamington is the best place for him to do this. I’m very pleased to have tied down one of our key players from last season’s promotion and cup winning squad, and I am sure that Courtney is looking forward to testing himself in the National League North”.
