Blyth Spartans Take Heed Pair on Loan

Blyth Spartans have announced the signings of midfielder Kieran Green and defender Danny Burns on a month`s loan from National League neighbours Gateshead.

Twenty-year-old Green arrives at Croft Park following his summer move to Gateshead from Hartlepool United, where he spent his youth career, turning professional in 2014 and making his first-team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy against Sheffield United later that year.

He is a central midfielder who has also spent time on loan at both Spennymoor Town and Frickley Athletic.

Spartans have also brought in centre-back Burns, who has experience at National League North level, having two separate loan spells at Lowestoft Town in 2015/16 whilst being on the books at SkyBet League Two side Cambridge United.

The Yorkshireman joined Evo-Stik League Premier outfit Buxton in 2016 before being plucked by Gateshead for an undisclosed fee last season.

Both players come into contention for Blyth`s away trip to Southport this Saturday.
