Blues New Bosses Get Busy As Three Put Pen To Paper

By Sam Elliott

Chester’s new joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley tonight got down to business.

The pair re-signed two of the squad’s players from last season - and confirmed a new one as well.

Chorley’s Matt Hughes is their first new addition since they arrived from Salford City earlier this month.

Hughes is back at the club after two previous loan spells. Johnson hopes it’s the first of many quality additions the fans can look forward to seeing.

Last year wasn’t the best for Chester but one player who did impress was late into the campaign was Gary Roberts.

The experienced former Crewe and Rotherham midfielder tonight signs a one year deal.

He said: “The new management team have come in and hopefully we can get as many bums on seats as possible.”

One player who hopes to be playing in the EFL in years to come is teenager Nathan Brown.

He has also agreed terms and Johnson is “delighted” and the treble deal.
