Bird Wings Into Slough As Rebels Sign New Forward

Ryan Bird’s new nest is with Slough Town after flying off from the Magpies of Maidenhead United.

He will play for the National League South club next season following an injury-hit campaign.

Joint managers Neil Baker and Jon Underwood think the former Dover striker, who scored 16 National League goals at the Crabble before moving to Berkshire last summer.

“He is a local lad who knows several of our players well, and we have no doubt he will fit in to our dressing room straight away,” they said.

“We feel his experience and physical presence will only strengthen our squad further as we look to build on a decent first season at this level.”

The signing is more good news for the club after a new sponsorship deal was announced.

Eton West Construction will sponsor the club’s new away shirts for the next two seasons.
