Big Backline Blow For Barrow As Evatt May Have To Act

A double defensive injury for Barrow may force their manager Ian Evatt back to the transfer market.

Central defenders Brian Wilson and Matt Elsdon picked up injuries as the Bluebirds lost 2-0 to FC Halifax Town on Tuesday night.

Evatt told The Barrow News & Mail that the backline blow means he may need to act.

Barrow face a tricky trip to Leyton Orient this weekend, a feature game across the National League’s social media platforms.

He told them: “To lose two players in one position, in a key position as well, that is obviously something I didn’t want to happen.

“Now I will talk to the people I need to and see what can be done, if we can bring in someone.

“Obviously there are a lot of games coming up, so those conversations will happen quickly.”
