Barrow Get A New Assistant

Micky Moore will be Paul Cox's assistant beginning immediately with the pair knowing each other already.

Moore who played for the likes of Swansea City and Derby County, was forced into early retirement at the age of just 29 years old, due to a back injury, writes Tom Feaheny.

Moore has since been manager at Solihull Moors and Nuneaton Town. He He also had a spell as assistant manager at Grimsby Town. While he is also now a UEFA A licensed coach.

Paul Cox was believed to be in talks with someone he had previously worked with and that turned out to be the case, with Moore as the duo were both at Mansfield Town.

Speaking about the addition to the North-West Evening Mail, Cox said the appointment was an important signing.

“Micky has been in from the start of this week with us. Micky is a very positive addition – one of the most important signings of the close-season.

Barrow get their pre-season campaign underway as they face Blackburn Rovers tomorrow at the Furness Building Society Stadium. Kick off is 3pm.
