Barrow Borrow Young Chairboy

By Steve Whitney

Paul Cox, manager of Vanarama National League club Barrow AFC, has signed 20-year-old midfielder Dan Rowe on loan from Sky Bet League Two side Wycombe Wanderers until March 19th.

Rowe is based in Billingham and began his career with Rotherham United.

Three loan spells with Wanderers resulted in the youngster landing a permanent move to Buckinghamshire and a three-year contract last summer.

The deal was arranged within hours of physio Sean Riley revealing that a scan on Niall Cowperthwaite’s knee - injured at Woking - had revealed a ruptured ACL. The pair see the club surgeon in Preston tomorrow to arrange a reconstruction operation which will see six months’ re-couperation.
