Back What We’re Doing At Barrow Pleads Boss Evatt

Ian Evatt believes there’s not been a better time for Barrow fans to watch their side for ages.

The Bluebirds manager is proud of the progress the club have made in the last month.

Evatt’s team have won three of their last four National League games with the other result a solid draw with title-chasing Wrexham.

Now the manager wants to see attendances grow over the busy Christmas and New Year period.

That means the Blackpool legend needs fans to forget about present buying and heading down to Holker Street on Saturday for their FA Trophy tie with FC Halifax.

In a passionate interview with the Barrow News & Mail, Evatt said: “We just want to get them people back, the ones that are kind of twiddling their thumbs on a Saturday and don’t really know what to do.

“Well, get yourselves down to Holker Street because these boys are doing great and I’m sure you’ll appreciate what you’ll see.

“We did have a bit of a bad run of form, I understand the weather’s not the best, but these boys really play for the badge on the front of their shirts.

“That’s what I was told when I got the job, that the support wanted a team they could be proud of again and they can be proud of these lads.”
