Armstrong Wants Lessons Learnt Despite Win

Alun Armstrong saw his side nearly drop points despite going 3-0 up against AFC Telford United

It was an impressive first-half for Spartans but a disappointing second-half saw their manager knowing they have to learn from it. Highlights here, writes Tom Feaheny

Armstrong spoke to the Blyth Spartans official website on why it really was a case of two halfs for his side.

"The first-half we were outstanding, we got in their faces from the off, we could have been four or five nil up by half-time, I told them just don't switch off, I was absolutely fuming because we knew they would have a go at us, we have standards and set them

He added: "You have to give credit to AFC Telford United, they gave us a right go, they went for second balls."

Armstrong was still delighted that his team were able to get another three points on the board.

"I'm delighted with the win, but we were so good and then so bad, I'll take the positives from it, we will discuss what happened in the second-half, we will learn from it."
